Dick is the author of Advising Minnesota Corporations and Other Business Organizations [four volumes, hardbound], the principal Minnesota business law practice treatise used by lawyers, judges, and academicians. It is published by Lexis, one of the two largest law book publishers in the world. The millennium 2000 supplement of over 457 pages was recently released as a separate additional fifth volume to the set. Dick’s practice includes transactional law and commercial litigation, estate planning, franchise law, trademarks, and real estate. Dick is the former National Judge Advocate for the U.S. Navy League, Washington D.C.

JD 1960, (Class Valedictorian) Emory University Law School; BS 1954, United States Military Academy, West Point (Phi Kappa Phi); Major, Corps of Engineers and JAG Corps (active duty 1954-1957). In addition to his complex issues trial practice, Floyd continues to handle many cases in the appellate courts, and state and federal trial levels. Over his professional career he has handled well over 100 cases in the state and Federal appellate courts in the 5th, 8th, and 11t circuits, as well as the United States Claims Court, Court of Military Appeals and three petitions before the Supreme Court of the United States. He is also active in estate and business planning and real estate law and holds a degree in general engineering.
