The United States Constitution protects people from government action that is arbitrary or constitutes an abuse of government power. Congress passed the Federal Civil Rights Act so that citizens who have been deprived of their constitutional rights can file suit in state or federal court for money damages, attorney fees and costs, and other relief.
Civil rights involve fundamental issues of human rights, dignity, and freedoms. If you have been subjected to violations of your civil rights or have been the victims of police misconduct, sexual harassment, or discrimination on the basis of age, disability, national origin, sex, race, or religion, whether in matters of public accommodations, education, housing, or voting under federal or state law, please contact us. Saliterman & Siefferman attorneys can help.
